Polite Provisions

Polite Provisions is one of San Diego’s most unique bars. They specialize in all kinds of mixed drinks, not necessarily alcoholic. While the drink menu is larger than most restaurant’s entire menu, my favorite part of this place is still the soda fountain. Their pomegranate phosphate is out of this world, with just the right amount of seltzer and homemade grenadine syrup. The same goes for their “Mexican Coffee”, a smooth, creamy mixture of tequila, Kahlua and pressed coffee. Best of all, they’re open 7 days a week until 2 am.

Aero Club Bar

The Aero Club Bar is a true slice of Americana in San Diego. Originally built by husband and wife in 1947, the bar has grown to become one of America’s top-rated bars, according to Maxim. Don’t judge this book by its cover. While the outside looks a little “divey”, the interior design of this place is amazing, truly a hidden gem amongst San Diego. Oh, and best of all the Aero Club has over 800 types of whiskeys!

Crushed

If Crushed in San Diego does one thing right, it’s the presentation. Almost anything they put on your table is a work of functional art. There’s no bite-size steaks with a little basil leaf on the side. No, everything tastes just as good as it looks. Take for instance their PB&J sliders and Nutella pancakes — delicious, totally filling and a masterpiece on a plate. Or their delicious Elderflower and Lavender Mimosas, the right amount of sweet, floral, and alcohol taste come together to make these drinks one of San Diego’s must-try. They also have a full bar menu, so be sure to test out a flight before ordering.

Cafe Gratitude San Diego

Sometimes after a long night out, you find yourself craving a big meal or in dire need of coffee. On those rough mornings, we often like to head on over to Cafe Gratitude for a big breakfast and extra coffee. Cafe Gratitude is a cozy little vegan restaurant with organic coffee, savory breakfasts, refreshing smoothies, and a full menu of food that will make you actually feel better. But those hot breakfasts aren't all that's good, it's also a perfect spot to have a healthy dinner and a drink or two before you head out and hit the town! Beer and wine only, but a great selection of each!
